Using 1080p HD Video in Zoom

This article describes how to use 1080p HD Video in Zoom.

Instructions

There are several criteria which must be met in order to use 1080p HD video.

  1. Visit your Zoom profile settings: https://boisestate.zoom.us/profile/setting

    1. Look for the setting titled Group HD Video.

    2. Ensure that Full HD (1080p) is selected.

  2. In the Zoom client settings, ensure that HD is checked.

    1. Open the Zoom application on your computer.

    2. Click the Settings gear in the upper-right.

    3. Select Video from the left-hand navigation menu.

    4. Check the box next to HD if it is not already checked.

  3. Confirm that your computer has an i7 Quad Core CPU or higher.

    1. If your device does not support 1080p HD video, it might support 720p HD video.

  4. Use the Active Speaker video layout (not Gallery) during the meeting.

Panopto Viewing

To view HD videos (including Zoom recordings) in Panopto, the viewer should ensure that high quality viewing is enabled.

  1. In the Viewer Controls, click on Quality and select the highest possible quality.
