Disallow Threaded Replies Setting

WHAT: The “Disallow Threaded Replies” box is checked in my Canvas Course Discussion Boards and I did not check it!  Why did this happen, and how can I fix it?

WHEN: This change was applied by Canvas to the Boise State Instance on August, 14th 2024.

WHY: Here is a letter from Canvas explaining the reasoning behind the changes. 

HOW TO FIX: Manually uncheck the unwanted boxes in the Discussion Settings.  Save the change.  These changes will “stick” when copying into future courses, so will not need to be changed again. See the screenshot below pointing out the setting once you are in Edit on a Discussion:
