Instructions
Go to the Canvas Course Site you would like to work in.
From the Course Layout menu, select Files.
Organize the files by file Size. (You can do this by clicking on the “Size” column title.)
Locate any large files that can be moved to a different storage location such as Google Drive or Panopto.
Best Practices with File Storage
Use Google Drive:
Canvas has an integration with Google. Store all files, docs, pdfs, powerpoints, etc. in your Google Drive. (Google Integration) and use the integration to present the content to the students.
Use Panopto:
Video/Media files should be stored on Panopto. Panopto is integrated with Canvas and has unlimited storage.
Once the files ares successfully moved. Use the integrations to post the content on Canvas.
Delete the unneeded Files from Canvas.
