Summary

Bard is Google's conversational artificial intelligence chat service. It is similar to ChatGPT. At the time this article was published, Google Bard has been activated only for faculty and staff; students do not have access to Google Bard through their Boise State accounts.

Instructions

  1. On your computer, go to bard.google.com.

  2. If you’re not already signed in, sign in to your Boise State Google account.

  3. In the text box at the bottom, enter your question or prompt.

  4. To upload a photo with your prompt, click the Upload file button directly to the left of the prompt box, then select a photo to upload.

  5. Click Submit.

Considerations

  1. You must be at least 18 to access Google Bard.

  2. Bard is an experiment and may give inaccurate or inappropriate responses.

  3. Bard works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Edge browsers.

  4. Don’t use student information protected by FERPA with Bard.

  5. Don’t rely on Bard’s responses as medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

  6. Bard may use your location to provide more relevant responses to your prompts; learn how to manage your location
