Wonda VR: Interactive Learning Tool for Practicing Conversation Skills with AI Avatar

About Wonda VR

Wonda is an interactive learning tool that helps you practice conversation skills with an AI-powered avatar. It simulates real-world situations so you can practice as many times as you need to build confidence and improve your communication.

Your instructor will be able to view your conversation history and feedback report to support your learning. Your personal information is protected and will not be shared outside of our organization. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason, please contact your instructor for an alternate option.

Using Wonda VR

When you start a simulation, you’ll have a conversation with the AI character avatar; you can chat with the avatar using either voice notes or typing.

Review your course assignment instructions thoroughly. You may be expected to complete a minimum number of interactions with the avatar. In addition, you may be completing a graded activity or having a practice session. The assignment details from your instructor will identify what, if anything, you will submit after completing your activity.

Generating a Conversation Report

Click the End Conversation button to begin generating your report. 

Hold to Talk

Wait for your report to be generated, then click the Download Report button to save the report.

Tips

  • For the best performance, use Chrome or Firefox

    • If the simulation is not working, try a different browser

  • Close other browser windows/tabs and running apps to have ample memory available for the avatar

  • Pressing the spacebar is the most reliable way to talk verbally to the program

    • A mouse click can get deactivated partway through your response

    • If the avatar doesn’t recognize your audio input at all, make sure you have allowed Wonda to use your microphone

      • If you do not want to share your microphone input, use the typing option instead

  • Run only one Wonda simulation at a time

  • If the avatar freezes midway, refresh the page

  • If the avatar seems to miss your input, say it again
