QM 1.8 The self-introduction by the instructor is welcoming and is available on the course site. (Important)
The self-introduction of an instructor in an online course establishes credibility and expertise, and helps students understand the instructor's background, qualifications, and expertise in the subject matter. This can build trust and respect and provide an example for students to emulate.

Hello and welcome to Environmental Science 101! I’m Dr. Jane Smith, and I’ll be your guide through this fascinating study of our natural world. I hold a PhD in Environmental Studies from the University of Green Earth and have over 10 years of experience working on sustainable development projects around the globe.
I believe that learning is a collaborative process and hope to learn as much from you as you do from me. My teaching approach is student-centered, focusing on engaging discussions, practical projects, and critical thinking. Outside the classroom, I enjoy hiking, photography, and volunteering at our local nature reserve.
You can reach me anytime via email at jane.smith@university.edu, or during my virtual office hours on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2-4 PM. I encourage you to ask questions, seek clarification, and engage actively in all our activities.
