If you would like ATC staff to configure your exams with Honorlock on your behalf, please submit a Virtual Exam Configuration Request form. Please allow five business days for processing. You will receive email confirmation once your exams have been configured.

If you would like ATC staff to walk you through the configuration process, please schedule a consultation.

Adding Honorlock to your Exam

If you have previously enabled the ProctorU LTI in your Canvas course, please remove it from the course navigation menu before proceeding with adding the Honorlock LTI to your Canvas course.

  1. Log in to your Canvas account and navigate to the course you would like to enable Honorlock for.

  2. Add the Honorlock LTI 1.3 tool to your Canvas course Navigation Bar. If you have already done so, please proceed to Step 3.

    1. To add the Honorlock LTI 1.3 tool, select the Settings menu item within your Canvas course Navigation bar.

    2. Within your course settings, select the Navigation tab.

    3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, or until you locate the Honorlock LTI 1.3 tool.

    4. Select the three dots next to the Honorlock LTI 1.3 tool, and click Enable.

    5. Once you have enabled the tool, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the blue Save button to save this addition.

  3. Navigate to the Honorlock LTI 1.3 tool located in your Canvas course Navigation Bar.

  4. Navigate to the Overview tab within the LTI tool and select the All Assessments filter.

  5. Locate the exam you would like to be configured, and select Enable.

  6. If you would like the Academic Testing Center to review recommended exam sessions on your behalf, turn on Email Notifications and enter testingcenter@boisestate.edu.

    1. The ATC will review recommended sessions that have high flags or violations and notify you of any sessions containing potential or blatant academic misconduct.

  7. Select the configuration settings that you would like for your exam by referencing the configuration prompts. Most of the information pulls directly from the information in the Canvas exam itself. If you require exam setting changes, please return to the quiz for adjustments.

  8. To allow the use of applications like Excel or electronic access to notes (Word, Notepad, PDFs), turn on the Browser Guard in the exam proctoring settings and enable Enhanced Desktop Security. Within the Manage Allowed Applications text box, search for and select your desired application. For additional information, please reference Honorlock Application.

  9. Confirm that all configuration and exam information looks correct. If so, select the blue Enable button at the bottom of the page.

  10. Once your exam has been configured with Honorlock, it will be located within the Honorlock Enabled Exams tab within the LTI tool.

  11. For additional information on the configuration process, please reference Using Honorlock with Canvas.

Once an exam is configured with Honorlock, the tool automatically generates a unique exam access code. Do not remove, modify, or replace the Honorlock generated access code. This access code should not be provided to students.
