AI Literacy and Student Success Online Resource

AI Literacy and Student Success Online Resource

The AI Literacy and Student Success online resource has been adapted from the University of Maryland (CC-BY) and was co-adapted for you by Boise State’s Academic Integrity Program, Albertsons Library Instructional Librarian staff, and eCampus Center.

This online resource is for faculty, staff, or students, or anyone in the greater community interested in becoming more familiar with AI use.

Boise State students who are assigned this resource as a requirement for one or more of their courses must register through BroncoLearn to obtain a completion certificate.

About the Course

Expect to spend about 1-2 hours reading/watching the information and completing a couple of short online quizzes and activities. Once you're done, you will be able to evaluate how to use AI-based tools responsibly in your academic work.

Specifically, you'll be able to:

  1. Identify the benefits and risks of how AI-based tools work.

  2. Fact-check AI output for inaccurate or misleading answers.

  3. Cite AI-generated work.

  4. Explore creative ways to use AI-based tools.

Quizzes are not required to continue viewing content, but they are required to receive an official completion certificate.

Proof of Completion

To submit proof of module completion:

  • You will receive an email-Completion Certificate that you may forward to anyone of your choosing.

  • Your completion status is also automatically recorded inside course data.

If you are assigned to complete the training in multiple settings, please check in with your instructors about resubmitting your proof of completion certificate to demonstrate your learning.

Instructors are encouraged to accept one certificate in multiple settings for one academic year, as proof of the student's currency of learning.

Troubleshooting

To do some trouble-shooting mid-course:

  • Use Chrome or Firefox for Canvas (not Safari or Edge).

  • Refreshing your browser, clearing your browser’s cache, or taking the course in an incognito or private window can also help Canvas functionality issues.

  • You must view and complete every portion in order to receive a completion certificate.

  • Quizzes require 100% accuracy (remember, you have unlimited attempts!).
