Setting Up and Using Conversations in boisestate.ai

Conversations represent your interactions with AI or AI Assistants. These are savable and sharable artifacts that include your prompts and the AI response.

Please Note: Generative AI is a tool that is meant to supplement how technology can assist users with various tasks and questions. AI is not perfect and can give incorrect information. A human should always review the content provided by AI.

Start a New Conversation

To optimize AI responses, consider creating new conversations for each new topic you want to engage AI in rather than using one long conversation across multiple topics.

  1. Once you have logged into the http://boisestate.ai page there are two options for starting a new Conversation:

    1. A text box at the bottom of the page

    2. A Conversation panel on the left-hand side of the page

    3. Note: Past Conversations are also visible on the left-hand panel.

  2. Consider the Pro-Tips:

    1. select the AI Model you wish to use

    2. edit the Conversation Settings

  3. Upload a file (if needed)

    1. Uploading files to conversations is a new feature effective Sep 8, 2025. Some models are not capable of analyzing uploaded content.

    2. The default “Claude Sonnet 4” model is a great general-purpose model that will ingest uploaded files.

  4. Enter your prompt.

  5. Click or tap the Enter button (looks like an upward arrow).

Export/Copy content out of http://boisestate.ai to share on other platforms

In http://boisestate.ai users can use standard copy/paste commands by highlighting the text and using a mouse or keyboard commands.

There have been reports that less commonly used browsers do not allow text highlighting.

Because of potential browser incompatibilities, http://boisestate.ai also provides a “copy button” located underneath the provided answer. Screenshot below. highlighting the copy button.

Pro-Tip! Choose the AI Model you want to work with!

AI models have varying capabilities and you may find you choose different models based on your specific needs in the moment.

When you log out of http://boisestate.ai , your AI model will reset to default. So, each time you start a conversation, confirm the model and adjust as needed.

To adjust models:

  1. Click or tap on the last selected model in-session or on default model “Claude Sonnet 4” in the prompt panel.

  2. Choose a model

    1. Clicking or tapping a filter will return only the set of models that best meet your need. For example, if you want to engage the AI using German, select the Multilingual filter and you will be given a list of the models that are capable of helping you.

    2. Clicking or tapping a model will update the default model in the prompt panel.

Pro Tip! Edit the Conversation Settings

Conversation settings influence how different AI models behave when responding to prompts.

When you log out of http://boisestate.ai, any setting changes you made may reset to default. So, each time you start a conversation, check your conversations settings.

Settings are model specific. The settings describe in this section are the maximum available settings, some of which may NOT be available on all models.

To check your settings:

  1. Select the gear icon in the prompt panel and the Advanced Settings panel will open.

  2. Experiment with different settings to learn the right “fit” for how you will use the AI.
    Available settings include:

    1. Model creativity scale.

    2. Max desired output given the model selected.

    3. Whether you want follow up questions as part of your AI interaction.

    4. Web or news search using brave, a privacy-oriented search engine.

    5. Fetching Internet content.

    6. Grant searches.

    7. Academic paper searches.
