Summary

ProctorU Record+ is an automated exam proctoring service that does not require appointment scheduling. Students must have access to a computer with a webcam and microphone to use Record+. You can find a full list of minimum system requirements on ProctorU's website. In order to take ProctorU exams, students must create a ProctorU Test Taker account, as well as download and install Guardian Browser.

  1. If you do not already have one, create a ProctorU account. You must use your Boise State Student Email. Be sure to check your inbox for a verification link and verify your email right away.

  2. To minimize technical issues, restart your computer before starting an exam. Be sure to close any unnecessary applications.

  3. Launch the Guardian Browser from your computer. If Guardian is not installed on your machine, see Installing ProctorU's Guardian Browser.

  4. In the Guardian Browser, navigate to https://canvasboisestatecanvas.boisestateinstructure.educom/ directly and log in.

Do not navigate to your my.boisestate, or you will be prompted for an access code.

  1. Access the Canvas course in which you need to take the exam, and navigate to the test.

  2. Click the Take the Quiz button to begin. The ProctorU Pre-checks process will begin. Click the Get Started button to continue.

  3. Follow the on-screen directions to complete the identity verification process. Be ready to present your Student ID Card or Dirver’s License. Your exam will begin once you complete all the steps.

Assistance with Technical Issues

If you experience a technical problem with Record+, please contact the Boise State Help Desk. If the Help Desk . Contacting ProctorU Support is not recommended for Record+ exams. Remember to include a detailed description of the problem, screenshots (if possible), the class name, the instructor’s name, and a callback phone number. If you need to report an issue after-hours, visit support.boisestate.edu, log in with your student credentials, then click Report A Problemis not available, use the Live Chat feature within your ProctorU account. Otherwise, you can connect with ProctorU Support online, call +1-855-772-8678, or submit a request to ProctorU support.

Similarly, if the Help Desk can’t resolve the issue, you will need to contact ProctorU Support.
