This article will guide you through running an iClicker polling session.

Instructions

  • Click the green "Start Session" button on the Course Dashboard
  • The Course Dashboard is replaced with the Master Toolbar, which floats above all other programs on your computer screen. Click the "Polling" option to toggle the Polling Toolbar
  • Start and stop polling by clicking the round Start/Stop button on the Polling Toolbar. A screenshot of your computer desktop is automatically saved to the cloud and sent to student devices when polling is started

    Go to the course settings to change when you share this image.

  • Show the Results and mark the correct response(s) when polling is stopped. Correct/incorrect feedback is immediately sent to student devices

  • Close the Master Toolbar to end the session and return to the Course DashboardSign in to your iClicker Cloud desktop software, mouse over your course name, and click Start Class.
  • When you start class, your session becomes active and ready to join. Instruct students to join the session and wait for your poll to begin. 
  • Choose a question to present to your class. Many instructors include question slides within their lecture presentations. Once you have a question displayed, click the Polling icon on the Class toolbar. Polling options will be displayed in the same toolbar.

  • You can toggle between different question types using the drop-down menu. By default, every new class session starts with the question type set to Multiple Choice. 

  • Click the play button to start a polling question.
  • The Polling toolbar will show you how much time has elapsed during a polling question and how many students have submitted responses. To end a polling question, click the stop button.
  • Click on the Results icon in the Polling toolbar to view class responses. Only display the results if you want to share this information with your students. The panel opens below the Polling toolbar, within the same window, and can be resized by dragging.
