This article covers how instructors add personalized questions to course evaluations in Blue. Instructors can include two multiple-choice question types, two scale question types (referred to as table questions in Blue), and four comment question types.

You can add personalized questions to evaluations beginning 21 days before evaluations open to students. Questions can be added until evaluations open for to students. See this webpage for a calendar of course evaluation dates.

To reuse questions from multiple past terms, refer to the corresponding course evaluation reports and copy/paste the questions into your course evaluation for the current term.

Instructions

  1. Open the questionnaire personalization task from your email or sign in to http://boisestate.bluera.com/boisestate, select Home, and open the question personalization task from your task list.

  2. Select Preview to make sure your questions do not duplicate the existing pre-set questions. 

    1. Preview displays the pre-set questions developed by your department or college that your students will be addressing. Formulate your questions to supplement the existing questions.

  3. Click Customize next to a question you wish to modify, this will open the question editor.

    1. Once you have customized a question, it will automatically be set to “include” in your evaluation after finishing the task. You can choose to include or exclude questions by toggling the Include/ Exclude button next to them.

  4. Click Submit when you are done.

    1. You must click submit for questions to be included in the evaluation.

Note

Note: Table (Scale) questions allow students to evaluate up to 10 statements on a five-point scale, with options ranging from strongly disagree to strongly agree.

Copy questions between

...

courses in the current term

If you have multiple courses, you can copy personalized questions between your courses or from evaluations held in the previous term. This can save a lot of time and effort in rewriting applicable questions that you have added to previous evaluations.

  • Copy selection from: Allows copying questions to this course that you have already selected in a different course.

  • Copy selections to: Allows copying questions you have selected in this evaluation to one or several of your other courses.

Copy selection from

If you have already completed a question personalization task for a different course in the current term, you can copy the same selections and personalized questions from that course to the one you are currently completing.

  1. Click Copy Options from the question personalization menu (upper-right next to Submit).

  2. Select Copy Selections From. A window will appear named Copy selections from.

  3. Search for the course name you wish to copy the questions from and select it.

  4. Select Copy to finalize the process.

  5. Review the task with the copied questions before submitting.

Copy selections to

When you have completed a question personalization task, you can copy the selections and personalized questions you made to one or several other courses in the current term.

  1. Click Copy Options from the question personalization menu (upper-right next to Submit).

  2. Select Copy Selections To. A window will appear named Copy selections to.

  3. Search for the course name you wish to copy the questions to and select it.

  4. Choose to only copy the questions, or copy and submit the task immediately.

  5. Select Copy to finalize the process.
