There are some options available when you schedule a meeting that can help prevent these incidents.

Enable Waiting Room

This is the most effective preventative measure. By selecting Enable Waiting Room, you will need to manually allow each participant into the meeting as they join.

You can set a password which is required to join the meeting, preventing anyone who doesn’t have the password from joining. You will need to distribute this password to all meeting participants beforehand.

Do Not Enable Join Before Host

Please do not enable join before host, as this allows people access to the meeting when it is not actually occurring.

When the meeting is active, you have access to controls which define what participants are able to do.

Participant Audio and Video

Tip

You can mute/unmute Mute or Unmute all participants at once in the Manage Participants screen.

You can also lock all participants into this state by unchecking click More and then uncheck Allow participants to unmute themselves so that only the Host (or Co-Host) has the power to unmute participants.

  1. Go to Manage Participants.

  2. Find the participant name you want to change permissions for, then click More over that participant’s name.

  3. Click Mute/Unmute to toggle muting for the individual participant, or Stop Video to disable that participant’s video feed.
