  1. Create A ProctorU test-taker account
If you do not already have one, create a ProctorU account using your Boise State Student Email. Be sure to check your inbox for a verification link.

  2. Install the ProctorU browser extension
After creating an account, you will need to install the ProctorU browser extension to take tests. Refer to the instructions for installing the extension for this step.

  3. Run a compatibility-check before exam day
(Note: skip this step if your exam is already available.)
The extension must be installed before you run a compatibility-check. Students should complete a compatibility check at the beginning of the semester. The compatibility-check helps identify and resolve potential issues ahead of the exam. If your results indicate a problem, refer to the common issues page first. If you do not find a solution, contact the Boise State Help Desk. Remember to include the course name, the instructor’s name, a callback number, and a description of the issue.

  4. Start your test
When you’re ready to take your test, start the exam by clicking the test link in your Blackboard course. Clicking the link will launch the Record+ service. Do not search for the test on ProctorU’s website. If you’re not sure what to do on exam day, see this page.
